Licensed in Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Iowa and Texas, Casey spent his first 19 years at an international law firm before joining Sanders Warren & Russell LLP. He has been repeatedly named to Super Lawyers, Best Lawyers and Best of the Kansas City Bar. He is “AV Preeminent” rated by Martindale Hubbell and American Lawyer’s Magazine.

As a trial lawyer with over 27 first-chair jury trials to verdict, he defends companies, directors, officers, and professionals in professional and product liability matters, mass tort and business disputes nationwide. Two of his notable defense verdicts were among the largest in Missouri when tried. He obtained a defense verdict for a chemical transporter of PCBs.  Another defense verdict for a boat manufacturer in a wrongful death boat explosion. The balance of his work is comprised of managed healthcare litigation, Qui Tam (FCA), trade secret claims and breach of fiduciary obligations. He is panel counsel for several major U.S. and international insurance companies.

He has jury–tried wrongful death cases, including severe burn injuries and amputations. He has also jury–tried cases involving state merchandising practices and consumer protection acts.

His other notable representations include:

Purdue Pharma in the Kansas AG’s opioid suit against the company; National counsel for the world’s largest privately held insurance broker; Professional football and amateur sports leagues and teams in brain injury (CTE) litigation;

Monster Energy Drink against claims that its product caused a consumer’s death;

Summary judgment (8th Cir. affirmed) for the country’s largest anesthesiology group in which $ 1 billion in damages were alleged for FCA violations;

Monitoring counsel for the country’s largest MDL.

Casey has also successfully argued appeals before Kansas and Missouri appellate courts as well as the 8th and 10th Circuits.

In addition to his jury trial and appellate experience, Casey is a Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator (CFEI) through the National Association of Fire Investigators.

Casey Housley is an appointed Principal to the NFPA 302 & 303 Committees governing standards for watercraft, marinas and boatyards.. He has experience as a Technical Committee Member of NFPA 921 – Guide to Fire and Explosion Investigations. He has represented companies in fire and explosion litigation throughout the country.

Casey attended Northeastern Oklahoma A&M where he played baseball.  He is a NEO Sports Hall of Fame member. Casey graduated from the University of Kansas and also attended law school at the University of Kansas.
