Habitat for Humanity Volunteering

SWR recently volunteered at Habitat for Humanity KC, an organization that helps families in our Kansas City community build strength, stability and self-reliance through shelter.  Habitat offers many affordable housing solutions.  So far this year, Habitat has helped 745 families.  It has provided financial counseling to 470 individuals, and there are currently 850 Habitat for Humanity homeowners in Kansas City.  SWR employees were several among the total 3,408 individual volunteers this year.  Specifically, SWR was tasked with framing a house.  We were excited to help a local family in need, and also learned a lot in the process!  By the end of the day, SWR assisted with erecting one wall of the family’s new home.  What a rewarding experience!
